Part 2: Travelling to Nairobi

05-01-2020

In the previous blog, we promised to give you an insight of the steps you need to make your travel to Nairobi easy and enjoyable! Here we go!

First you need to plan early and book your ticket as early as possible for example,  2 months in advance inorder to avoid paying exorbitant amounts. Skyscanner could be  your 'friend' to check for prices of different flights.

Another tip, is to evaluate between using a direct flight or having a stop over and how much you can save between the two, based on your preference and if the direct flight is available from your country.

The cost can range for as low as € 300 for a return ticket. It can also be as high as € 1000+ depending on the class (business class, first class). We always do the economy one. Prices may also vary depending on the season you plan to travel e.g. in February you can travel cheaper while in December it is expensive.

Go to https://evisa.go.ke/eligibility.html and check if you need a visa or not (exempted).  lf you need to apply for your visa, you can use the same link to apply for a tourist eVisa which takes approximately 3 working days to be processed at a cost of $50. It will be sent to you on your email account.

Watch out! there are several companies offering visa service when you google for visa to Kenya online. They charge you alot of money whereas if you use the above link which is the official Kenyan website from the Ministry of foreign affairs, the process is so smooth that you really dont need to pay more to these companies.

Taraa...now that you have your visa, print it out. Of course you have a valid passport and a ticket, then you are ready to fly to Nairobi on your planned date...

In our next blog we give you an insight on where to stay in Nairobi and what to do to make your holiday enjoyable and unforgettable.
